A Lunch & Learn Workshop is an effective tool to educate employees on ways to stay healthy & energetic in the workplace, thereby increasing their performance, lowering absenteeism, and REDUCING company healthcare cost. Gard Wellness Center is a founding member of Doctors for Health and Wellness Foundation, a non-profit organization, and as such we are required to donate at least 120 hours of community service each year to local companies to maintain our founding member status.

Second: We provide your employees with a 40 minute workshop packed with FUN and informative info such as:

Breathe In, Breathe Out – Relaxation and Stress Reduction!

We will explore the deleterious effects of the stress response on one’s health and the clinical benefits of relaxation, including decreased pain, anxiety, improved immune system function, and improved sleep and creativity! Employees will be introduced to a myriad of relaxation techniques with the goal of reducing stress and increasing calm and productivity in the workplace and at home. This workshop will be interactive and experiential; teaching imbued with demonstration and feedback.

Three forms of Meditation are introduced:

1. Mindful Breathing Meditation– This will include attention to the breath: awareness, and the energy of bringing attention over and over to the breath: concentration.

2. Progressive Muscle Relaxation or Body Scan– This practice helps the employee identify subtle levels of mental tension and anxiety, and the physical tension that accompanies these mental/emotional states. It is particularly effective for employees with asthma, insomnia, headaches, colitis, and hypertension.

3. Loving Kindness Meditation– This teaches the employee to follow his or her breath, and focus on intention of cultivating compassion for self and others.

After this workshop your employees will be more relaxed and breathing easier!

 

Align Your Mind, Body and Spirit for the Best You!

This is an original and highly interactive learning session with important takeaway messages that has garnered excellent reviews from attendees! Mind, body and spirit need to be aligned for true harmony and healing to occur. Attendees will learn about these 3 components, be challenged to think differently regarding the ease of incorporating them into their lives, and participate in meditation and guided imagery. After each section they will fill out their personal ‘Prescription for a Healthier You’ (A blank ‘prescription’ will be provided.) They’ll choose 1 actionable item in each area: 1 mindfulness practice, 1 movement, and 1 connection to employ to align mind, body and spirit.) ATTENDEES WILL HAVE FUN, LEARN and COMMIT TO:  1. BE MINDFUL– present in the moment and breathe!  2. MOVE DAILY– move their bodies doing what they ENJOY!  3. MAKE CONNECTIONS– social, community, work, spiritual, nature, etc! They will even stand up at the end and take a pledge to incorporate them daily into their lives and to take charge of their wellness!

Learning Habits of Health for Sustained Weight Loss

Employees will learn from an experienced Registered Nurse and Certified Health Coach about how to take ownership of their weight management once and for all! Many topics covered including the importance of blood sugar control for preventing diabetes, cardiovascular risk factors, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, mindful eating, and the three core principles essential for reaching and maintaining a healthy weight. Your employees will learn about and can choose to embark on the scientifically proven Take Shape For Life Program individually, or we can set it up as a Healthy Challenge and they can embark collectively, having fun and supporting one another! I provide health coaching free of charge, supported by my team if needed. We would guide them EVERY step of the way educating, inspiring, listening, and supporting.  Your employees would leave hopeful, with an action plan to achieve their weight loss goals safely and timely, AND to learn habits of health that would sustain it and create true optimal health!

Meditate & be Mindful to Find Your Inner Zen!

The format for this workshop is both lecture and experiential. Attendees will be taught the fundamentals of meditation, and will have ample opportunity to practice. They will learn the benefits of meditation and how to realistically apply the practice in their busy daily lives. The differences between meditation and mindfulness will be explored.  This workshop is appropriate for beginner to intermediate practitioners.

Employees will leave guaranteed to have found their inner ZEN!

Self-Care For the Most Important Person in Your World – You!

After this workshop employees will know what Self-Care is, and what good Self-Care looks like. Numerous examples will be shared to enhance understanding that to take care of others they have to take care of themselves first! They will have a greater understanding of the importance of Self-Care, both in their personal lives and their professional lives. Attendees will be able to articulate how their lack of Self-Care can negatively impact their health and relationships, behavior, communication and productivity in and out of work.

Employees will receive a handout listing many Self-Care Practices, broken down into categories of Mind, Body, Spirit. From this list they will write a ‘Note to Self for Self-Care‘ (blank provided), choosing 2 Self-Care items from each category that they will commit to incorporating into their daily lives. They will be strongly encouraged to continue to add to the list in the future. At the end, they will stand and acknowledge THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THEIR WORLD, themselves, as worthy of love and good Self-Care!

Strengthen Your Immune System and Stay out of the Doctor

In this seminar/workshop, presented at your location, your employees will discover why they get sick, and then they will learn easy to implement tools and information to improve their immune system and overall health and well being, so they are able to be present in their job every day. Employees will also be able to improve their productivity at work with these new skills. This program can be customized to fit your time frame of either 45 minutes, 90 minutes or 2 hours.
