Overcoming Stress and Headaches

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014

The effects of uncontrolled stress and headaches are the leading causes of employee absenteeism and presenteeism. Presenteeism exists when an employee is physically present on the job, but is mentally, emotionally, and/or productively absent. This can be due to a physical condition they are suffering with, or due to side effects of medications that have been prescribed as a form of treatment. The problem has become so immense it is no longer merely a Human Resources issue… but rather a “C-Suite” level financial issue. A Cornell University study published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine showed that both productivity losses and total costs associate with presenteeism were most pronounced in patients with migraine/headache (followed by allergies and arthritis).

This workshop is designed to arm your employees with info and strategies to optimize their Stress Tolerance (the ability to meet and overcome stressors) and to teach “the anatomy of a headache”… What the most common causes of headache are, both well-known and most-often overlooked. For those who suffer with frequent or intense headache, this workshop will give them direction and hope to do all that is possible to reduce or eliminate the underlying cause of their headaches, rather than merely numb the pain for awhile with medications.
