About

Quinmetrics is the producer of the Quinometer, which is a tool for evaluating function angular/symmetry measurements between bilateral upper extremities in shoulder flexion. Use is intuitive and straightforward. When the patient lifts the Quinometer above the head, shoulder flexion is indicated by the angular degree shown on the dial. Limitations in movement between an affected and a non-affected upper extremity can be quantified from the Quinometer angular data.

The Quinometer quantifies documentation data of the deficiency. Compromised shoulder flexion ranges can correlate with decreasing function and ADLs such as bathing, grooming, feeding, and dressing, which can be measured using the Quinometer. Occupational and Physical Therapists can use this device to demonstrate progress in neurological, arthritic, and orthopedic patients by evaluating and documenting improvements in range of motion from initial evaluation to post-therapy discharge.

In addition, the Quinometer is easy to use compared to the goniometer. The goniometer reading can be challenging when it is difficult to find the right axis, i.e., obesity or high tone patients.
