Metta Acupuncture

Metta, which means all encompassing kindness in Pali, is the attitude by which Ricky Kuo strives to live. Ricky is a licensed acupuncturist who hails from Orange County, California. After studying Environmental Chemistry at UC San Diego, he decided to change paths to pursue his interest in traditional medicine and acupuncture. He received his degree in Masters of Oriental Medicine in 2013 and moved to San Diego to start his career. Ricky is especially interested in using an integrative approach to promote healthy living. He believes that acupuncture and other traditional remedies such as herbal supplements, cupping, and moxibustion are essential compliments to Western medicine. In 2018, Ricky received his Doctorate of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. His specialty is using scalp and ear acupuncture to treat various pain conditions and other illnesses. Fluent in Mandarin and English, one of Ricky’s dreams is to engage in more medical research on acupuncture and bring effective TCM into the mainstream to benefit more patients.
