About

I am a Certified Health Coach and a Certified Traditional Naturopath. Since 1989 I’ve been studying health and nutrition and the ways disease manifest in the human body. I’ve been interested in holistic health care for over 20 years, and have worked with people for the last 15 in places as far away as Patagonia, Argentina, remote ranches in northern California, and in internal medicine, in oncology, as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.

There is no part of the body and its physiology that I don’t find fascinating. In my training I’ve had the honor of examining over a dozen human cadavers. In my work with living humans I have had the privilege of researching and working with a wide variety of disorders—from many types of cancers to autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, obesity to eating disorders, from food allergies and sensitivities to arthritis. On a personal level, I was given several health opportunities of my own, namely several food sensitivities, prediabetes, and low thyroid. Much of my early training and research came out of the need to manage these disorders for myself. The doctors of my youth were not helpful in that regard, so I became deeply motivated to find therapies and make lifestyle choices that would allow me to function optimally.

I received my training from a variety of sources. My education began in a one year holistic health program at San Francisco State University in 1989. The next year I met and started training with a wonderful meditation teacher, Judith Lamblion. She teaches a form of meditation called Surat Shabd Yoga, which I still practice. It was through Judith that I also learned about Dr. Hew Len’s practice of Ho’oponopono, and Gary Craig’s E.F.T. training program. As my search for information and training continued, I completed an herbology intensive with Steven Horne, under the guidance of Dhyana Rose. This work inspired me to study naturopathy, which led to a five year program and certification in Traditional Naturopathy. In 2009 I decided to renew my anatomy, physiology, biology, microbiology, and chemistry knowledge by retaking these courses, with labs, at Southern California University and College of the Redwoods. Through these studies I became interested in allopathic medicine, which led to an accelerated program and certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant and a job in oncology. I received my Health Coaching Certification from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to formal education, I’ve researched thousands of nutritional studies, dietary theories, practical lifestyle techniques, innovative coaching methods, and emotional clearing and relaxation techniques. I have attended dozens of workshops, summits, and health conferences, in addition to my work with clients.

My education and experience have equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic, integrative nutrition, health coaching, and preventative health. Drawing on my background, training, skills, and personal experiences, I support my clients and their health needs mentally and emotionally, as well as physically. My suggestions come out of my training and work with clients, and are determined through the evaluation of each client’s relationship with food and other areas of their lives and the impact on their well-being and functionality. The goal is to help them establish their own unique optimum evolving health habits.
