National Epilepsy Awareness Month

Wednesday, July 25th, 2018

Every year, 1 in 150 people who have uncontrolled seizures dies from sudden unexpected death in epilepsy, known as SUDEP. When people with epilepsy and their caregivers are empowered with information to understand SUDEP, they can take action to reduce risk of harm.

This November, we are raising awareness about SUDEP and self-management and treatment options that may reduce its risk. People living with epilepsy can start to #AimForZero seizures with these behaviors:

  1. Take medication as prescribed

  2. Get enough sleep

  3. Limit alcohol

  4. Strive to stop seizures
