Wednesday, August 1st, 2018

World Autoimmune Arthritis Day is an annual event on May 20 to raise awareness of autoimmune arthritis diseases.

World Autoimmune & Autoinflammatory Arthritis Day is an annual event established in 2012 by the International Foundation for Autoimmune & Autoinflammatory Arthritis (IFAA) to raise global awareness about autoimmune & autoinflammatory diseases with arthritis as a major component (“autoimmune arthritis”, “autoinflammatory arthritis”). Originally the event was hosted as an online convention; however, in 2014 the theme changed to a virtual “auto” race around the world via social media (Facebook & Twitter), with dozens of nonprofit organizations globally participating as the Race Teams.

Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month

Tuesday, July 17th, 2018

July is Juvenile Arthritis (JA) Awareness month. An estimated 300,000 children in the U.S. — that’s 1 in 250 kids — are affected by some form of JA. This disease takes a unique physical and emotional toll on kids, often resulting in debilitating pain and feelings of loneliness or depression. JA can make it especially challenging for kids to say Yes — Yes to playing, Yes to hanging out with friends, Yes to spending time with family, Yes to being a kid!

The aims of World Arthritis Day are:

– To raise awareness of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases in all its forms among the medical community, people affected by any such condition and the general public
– To influence public policy by making decision-makers aware of the burden of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases and the steps which can be taken to ease them
– To ensure all people with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases and their caregivers are aware of the vast support network available to them.

Worldarthritisday is supported by EULAR, the European League Against Rheumatism. World Arthritis Day, referred to as WAD, is a global awareness day held every year on 12 October
