Dementia Support Group Facilitator Training

Want to lead a support group for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s or related dementias? Currently leading a group and want more information?  This free training will include an overview of support groups and their purpose, starting or growing a support group, and resources for your role as a facilitator.

Alzheimers North Carolina has trained support group facilitators for more than twenty years and currently assists over 100 active groups.

This training will be held Friday, January 25, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Heritage Woods in Winston Salem.

This workshop is designed to be for parents and caregivers. This workshop will be modified to be focused on parenting elementary age children or middle and high school children, depending on the needs of the audience. Education will be given about normal childhood development and then tips and skills will be taught to help the parents/caregivers make healthy parenting choices. Topics can also be modified to be focused on single parents and working parents.

3) Utilize several different types of meditation including the sitting down meditation, 3-minute meditation, 45 minute meditation, walking meditation, laying down meditation, the body scan meditation, etc.
