Everyone knows of someone in their family, workplace or community that has struggled with alcohol, but who continue to drink despite negative consequences. They are on and off again, and may even be saying they want to quit, but don’t know how or what to do.
Triad Behavioral psychiatrists are addiction specialists, and explain how our brains handle moods and behaviors differently when predisposed towards alcohol addiction. Traditional methods of medical treatment are reviewed and compared to a newer psychiatric approach using the medication Vivitrol, designed to curb alcohol cravings at the beginning of recovery.

Vicodin (hydrocodone) is the #1 drug prescribed in America. It is effective for short term pain relief, but many find themselves addicted and can’t stop taking for fear of withdrawal. Also, the first drug young people experiment with now is no longer marijuana, but hydrocodone. Because of their ease and availability, these synthetic opiates find their way into the wrong hands with disastrous results .
The workshop discusses the different unexpected pathways to pain pill addiction and prevention, answering the dependency or addiction question, and methods of treating this addiction.

How the presentation will benefit members: Ergonomics, as defined by OSHA, “is the science of fitting workplace conditions and job demands to the capabilities of the working population,” and “refers to assessing those work-related factors that may pose a risk of musculoskeletal disorders and recommendations to alleviate them.” Employees will benefit from the presentation by understanding how the office designs or work environments affect their personal health, which in turn affects productivity and bottom line.
