Diagnosed with lupus in 2008, Ellise Nikki Johnson was told she may one day need dialysis or a kidney transplant. After years of prescriptions, inflammation, and exhaustion—despite intense fitness efforts—she found herself stuck in a cycle that medicine couldn’t break.

Everything changed in 2018 after watching What the Health with her son. Together, they went vegan overnight. Within weeks, Ellise experienced radical healing, dropping pills and pounds as inflammation and fatigue began to fade. Her healing sparked curiosity from friends, family, and strangers—and what started as a few shared recipes became a movement.
