Prevent Blindness North Carolina (PBNC), also known as the National Society to Prevent Blindness – North Carolina Affiliate, Inc., was organized in 1967 as a nonprofit health agency and an independent affiliate of the national organization, Prevent Blindness (established in 1908). The daily mission of PBNC is to prevent blindness and preserve sight through direct services and programs, education and advocacy.
