We treat each patient with compassion and dignity. NJ Vein Care is committed to listening to each patient’s concerns and aggressively treating venous disorders.

Over the last decade, there have been major advances in the surgical approach to vein problems. In the past and still in some places, surgical management of venous disorders was done with a “one size fits all” approach. The long saphenous vein along with varicose veins were “stripped” out of the leg using large incisions. Fortunately, things have changed.

The key to proper treatment is the correct diagnosis of the root cause of the vein problems of the leg. We start with a careful history and physical examination to identify risk factors along with the signs and symptoms of venous disorders. The next step is the use of noninvasive ultrasound diagnostics to create a road-map of the venous system to identify and locate valve dysfunction. Only then, can an appropriate treatment plan be developed.

If ultrasound evaluation identifies that the valves of the saphenous vein or perforator veins are not functioning normally, a minimally invasive catheter based treatment can be used. Radiofrequency ablation by Venefit is the technique of choice for NJ VeinCare to treat valve dysfunction resulting in reflux of the long and short saphenous veins along with the perforator veins.

Some patients with varicose veins will benefit from the removal of the veins from the leg using a micro-invasive technique rather than sclerotherapy. NJ patients receiving this treatment will experience tiny 1 mm long punctures made in the skin. The varicose veins are then surgically removed. With the smallest of incisions, no sutures are required!

For those patients with primarily cosmetic concerns, we are now offering the newest techniques in the management of spider and reticular veins. Starting off with the smallest of veins, less than 0.3 mm in diameter, we offer Veinwave! This is a significant advancement in the treatment of these tiny veins that are too small for sclerotherapy and don’t do well with laser or IPL treatments. Veinwave is a wonderful treatment for facial veins and Rosacea. We are now offering Asclera, the latest FDA approved drug for the treatment of spider and reticular veins. Studies have shown improved patient satisfaction with Asclera than the other FDA approved drug used for Sclerotherapy. We also offer treatment of hand veins too!

For those patients with the advanced problems of chronic venous insufficiency that has lead to wound problems, we specialize in compression management along with sophisticated wound care options including bioartificial skin grafting, using Apligraf.
