Mutual of Omaha is a Fortune 500 mutual insurance and financial services company based in Omaha, Nebraska. Mutual of Omaha covers CORE Services Basic Life, Voluntary Life, Voluntary STD and Voluntary LTD coverages.

BASIC LIFE – provided to you by your employer! This is a flat $15,000 benefit. 

VOLUNTARY LIFE- additional insurance available to cover costs for your loved ones. Funerals average around $15,000 and additional costs to think about leaving your families with is mortgage, student loans, living expenses on one paycheck, etc. 

VOLUNTARY STD- paycheck insurance. This covers your paycheck up to 60% to a max of $1,500 if you are on short term leave. Common examples of short term leave include maternity leave, injuries/recoveries, etc. 

VOLUNTARY LTD- this is also additional paycheck insurance should you be out for a longer period of time than anticipated. This coverage allows you to work partially while also taking leave where necessary which is beneficial in a cancer diagnosis. Common examples of long term leave include cancer, injuries/recoveries that end up last longer than expected, mental illness, substance abuse, etc.
