Women often seek acupuncture for symptoms such as migraines and other types of headaches, gastrointestinal issues, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and fatigue, as well as women’s health issues such as painful periods, prolonged or heavy bleeding, endometriosis, PCOS, urinary frequency or urgency, PMS, hot flashes, and night sweats.

Women also often turn to Chinese medicine when dealing with unusual symptoms that have not responded well to Western medicine or which don’t fit neatly into Western medicine diagnostic categories.

Fertility Acupuncture

Passionate about helping women fulfill their dreams of motherhood, Dr. Mims works with women and their partners experiencing many different fertility challenges, such as unexplained infertility or subfertility, a history of repeated miscarriages, or fertility challenges due to underlying conditions such as endometriosis, PCOS, or male factors. Whether you are trying to conceive naturally, are preparing for IVF or IUI, or are currently in an IVF or IUI cycle, acupuncture may be able to help optimize your fertility.

Oncology Acupuncture

Dr. Mims has received specialized training in oncology acupuncture through Memorial Sloan Kettering. The goal of complementary and integrative health care is to improve your quality of life while relieving the side effects of cancer treatment. Side effects commonly treated with acupuncture include nausea and vomiting, fatigue, pain, neuropathy, and hot flashes.

About Dr. Mims

A graduate of Duke University, Dr. Mims is triple board certified in acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and fertility acupuncture. She is the only certified fertility acupuncturist in the Lexington area, and one of only three in Kentucky. She is also a certified menopause practitioner.
