Carolina Retina Institute (CRI), an Ophthalmology practice in Cary, is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to improve the quality of life of its patients by restoring and maintaining their vision.

Dr. Amit Kumar, board certified Ophthalmologist at CRI, has extensive Medical and Surgical training to treat the Diseases of the Retina, Vitreous and Macula.  Dr. Kumar operates on the front of the eye (Cataracts) as well as the back of the eye (Retina). Recently, Dr. Amit Kumar was awarded the “Best Eye Doctor” in Western Wake by Cary Magazine!  This is a great recognition for Dr. Kumar and his team! “Winning this recognition is an affirmation that our team at CRI has exceeded our patients’ expectations. To meet the Healthcare needs of our patients in an environment of high deductibles and copays, CRI changed its business model from being a pure Retina Practice to comprehensive Ophthalmology Practice. Patients do not have to go to multiple doctors for Diabetes evaluation, Glaucoma, or Cataracts. Dr. Kumar is able to treat most conditions like Diabetic eye disease, Glaucoma, Dry Eyes, Cataracts, Stye & Chalazia Floaters and Retinal Detachment. This model provides continued care for the patients while helping them save time and money!
