About

The Lifestyle of a Brookdale Resident

One of the most common questions seniors have about senior living is, “What am I going to do all day?” Seniors fear they’ll be bored or lonely at the community, or that they won’t have the freedom to choose what they’ll do each day. We are here to put all those worries to rest.

Your loved one will have plenty of freedom to chose how they spend their day — from the food they eat to the activites they’re involved in. A senior living community allows a senior to have options, which is something they wouldn’t have while living alone. Here’s a little bit of what a resident might experience on a daily basis while living at a Brookdale community:

Engaging Activities

Every single community offers residents a personalized monthly calendar of events. The available activities are selected based on the interests of each senior, and are designed to be enriching and fun for the residents.

Activities are scheduled around-the-clock, so your loved one will never feel bored. For example, the day might start off with a workout class at 10 am, followed by a brain-stimulating game or a round of Dominos at 10:30. Then at 11 am, residents would head off-site to a local spot for lunch. And this is all before noon!

Communities also organize plenty of special events throughout the year. These may include cookouts in the summer, Mother and Fathers’ Day buffet luncheons, annual holiday parties, Sunday dinners and a trip to the drive-in theater complete with popcorn and candy. We also encourage family and friends to participate in any of these activites.

Fine Dining Experience

A great meal is one of life’s simple pleasures. At Brookdale, we believe dining well is part of living well. Your loved one will enjoy restaurant-style dining with chef-prepared meals in an elegant dining room. Each day features a three course meal with an appetizer, main course and dessert, along with a variety of menu options that changes daily. So your loved one won’t get bored with the food choices. Brookdale’s Culinary Arts Institute is a professional development program designed to enhance the food preparation and presentation skills of our dining and culinary arts team at our senior living facilities.
