As a family doctor, Dr. James has more than 30 years of experience leading diverse teams. Her career spanned several sectors including Federally Qualified Community Health Centers, public health, rural medicine, occupational medicine, and opioid dependency. She earned a BS in Pharmacy from Florida A&M University, MD from University of Miami, and a Duke Integrative Medicine Institute’s Professional Health Coaching certification. As a physician and wellness advocate, Dr. James strives to educate patients according to a “wellness model” rather than the traditional “sick model” of healthcare as we know it today. Her goal is to eliminate health disparities and make our communities healthier and wealthier. Her motto is:
